About The Event
Our organisation is working towards healthier habitat along the Whau River through community participation and kaitiakitanga (guardianship and protection). We deliver a wide range of community-based environmental projects, principally in collaboration with Auckland Council and other key stakeholders within the catchment. This includes programmes and projects in the areas of ecological restoration and conservation.
Planting season is in the cooler, wetter months of June, July and August. Native Tree Planting in winter means that plants have plenty of time to get established and get their roots down before the hot, dry weather of summer.
If you and/or your team would love to work outdoors to plant native trees, and make a real difference - join us to plant a future forest.
Please note, if you are an individual, you can still register here and we will put you with a group for Native Tree Planting that best suits your availability.
By participating in this volunteering opportunity you are helping achieve the following United Nations Sustainability Goals: Goal 11 - Sustainable cities and communities Goal 13 - Climate action Goal 15 - Life on land
